Shelley Tate Garner
Artist Shelley Tate Garner has been involved in the arts in the Texoma area for the past 18 years. As a student, she worked with a number of regional artists and influences. As a gallery owner, she connected with both the local community and artists from overseas and brought an eclectic mix back to her birthplace of Denison, Texas. An avid traveler, Garner has viewed and created work based on her experiences both at home and abroad.
Shelley graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Cum Laude, specializing in painting and ceramics. Currently she is completing her Master's Degree at the University of Oklahoma in Museum Studies. Her artistic interest blend a mix of abstracted subject matter with non-representational painting and sculpture. She explores the diversity of textures and materials with an exciting use of color and pattern. The underlying theme of her work is the dynamic interaction of man and nature.
She has been featured in numerous group and solo exhibitions across the southwest region. Shelley has received numerous awards for her painting and sculpture works. Her work is included in prominent private and corporate collections across the United States, Canada, and Germany.
